Welcome to my Substack on the Iowa State League. The purpose of this substack is to be a one stop shop for all of my research on the Iowa State League, a minor league that existed from 1904-1907. Here is how to navigate it:
The Story of the First Three Seasons
A major part of this substack is the story of the first three seasons (1904, 1905, 1906) which included just Iowa teams. To read this narrative, go back to the very first post and read to the most recent one. It will tell you how the league was created and what happened over the course of those seasons.

I have spent years researching and gathering information about the league. Below is my original research about the Iowa State League. You are more than welcome to use my research for your own project as long as you let me know and get me appropriate credit.

Future of this Substack
The major point of starting this substack was to put all of my information that I have gathered over the years in one place. Now that all the information is uploaded, I will post less frequently. I plan on narrowing my focus to the Oskaloosa Quakers. After I complete my Master’s Degree in History in May 2027, I plan on writing a book about the Quakers. In the meantime, any pertinent information about the league will be added to this substack.
